musicians , especially in the making of the GAB which is essential to the

The
BAYAN is
made of nickel plated copper and has a standard weight of 3.5kg Also
you can notice the very beautifully done BINUNI (laced artwork).
The
Dayan is made from the best
Mahogany wood that has been well
seasoned. Same specifications on the Gajara as the Bayan. Also please note that
all of our Tablas are air shipped only from India. This makes a very big
difference!! Generally in the West, tablas are sent by sea and so they are
subject to high temperatures and moisture which can destroy even the finest of
drums, especially the Dayan!! Our tablas leave India and arrive
here in perfect condition and tuning!

The GAB
or SYAHI is made layer by layer with a maximum density of cracks to
ensure the highest degree of flexibility. Also, the skins and straps for the
Tabla set have been made from Bombay skin, which are known to be longer lasting.
Calcutta style tablas are famous for their sound but to get this, the heads have
been thinner. We have managed to get the Calcutta sound while at the
same time utilizing the strength of Bombay skin!
Very nice covers are included with the set as well as rings and hammer (covers shown upside down
here for the picture!)

Professional Tabla
set. Please do not confuse these with the commonly available cases
elsewhere. This is the first time these have been offered as a standard
in the US, to the best of my knowledge. Extra sturdy handles, latch, &
hinges and includes a padlock. This case is built to withstand the most
extreme conditions of travel..
Extra padding and plush lining in the interior ensure a snug fit during
travel.....an absolute necessity. You have the

specifications by special request. This is good news for those who wish to
accompany vocalists or instruments that require a different key than the
standard C#. Generally the price will be the same on special orders but please
