In response to a great demand for an
affordable
quality student sitar, we are happy to present the Srishti
Student Kharaj Pancham model. A new
standard for an affordable sitar without compromise in quality.....
Please note that the wood carvings vary and may be different than this model shown
here on the tabli, bottom gourd and top gourd. The usual design is the
palm leaf design. |

The Srishti Kharaj Pancham student model sitar is made of the finest available tun wood and carved
in one of the traditional styles of Calcutta, India on the tabli. This
design is somewhat similar to our Standardl model....A quality

And as with the other Srishti sitars,
very nice inlay and penwork, carefully done by expert craftsmen. It has
a very full bodied sound which is quite rare in a student sitar. |

Nicely carved Rosewood pegs, carefully
fitted and chalked with bone endpieces and bone tuning beads. All other
parts are bone with the exception of the tail piece/string anchor.

The top tumba is made of spun wood and
nicely decorated. Also, it has surprisingly good sound projection giving
a nice stereo effect to the player. |

The jawari is open and professionally
done Professional jawari is rarely done on
instruments in this price range. The string layout is Ravi Shankar
Kharaj Pancham style. All frets finely tuned and fitted in India and
double checked at our shop before shipping! Meend (bending) of 5
to 6 notes is easily accomplished. |

You can add to your student sitar a padded gig bag
for light weight portability in either single tumba or double tumba
style.
However you can order a leatherette case or even a fiberglass case for your student sitar. Colors will vary on in stock sitars. Our
Srishti Kharaj Pancham Student Sitar comes with a accessory set of spare generic strings,
and 3 mizrabs. |

All Srishti sitars are monitored during
the entire building process and fine-tuned by expert musicians in India
before being air-shipped to our shop. Once at
our shop they are played by us for an additional several hours before being
offered for sale. The Srishti Student Kharaj Pancham model is a great entry level sitar that will last you many years. Please
