The Srishti Designer concert model sitar is made of the finest available tun
wood and carved in one of the traditional styles of Calcutta, India on
the tabli. The design has been has been expanded to include colored
penwork. Beautifully finished and fully carved. The pen work
is unique and in roses on a vine with leaves.....It
is a larger sitar, slightly wider tabli and deeper bottom gourd. A

very nice inlay and this Srishti has colored penwork, carefully done by expert craftsmen. |

Nicely carved Rosewood pegs, carefully
fitted and chalked with bone centerpieces and bone tuning beads. Also,
at the top of the neck there is a special emphasis on the inlay creating
a beautiful niche. |

The top tumba is equally as decorated
as the tabli with colored penwork and perfectly fitted to the sitar. All our sitars have only
natural large gourds for the top and inlay on the sound holes in the back! |

The jawari is open and professionally
done with 2 slots for the MA (1st) string and optional extra slot for
the SA (2nd) at your request. The string layout is Ravi Shankar Kharaj
Pancham style. All frets finely tuned and fitted in India and double
checked at our shop before shipping! Meend (bending) of 5 to 6
notes is easily accomplished. |

A fiberglass case comes standard with the
Srishti Designer. Colors will vary on in stock sitars. If we
are out of stock and you pre-order then you have the option to choose
your case color. Also, like all our Srishti sitars, the Designer comes with an
accessory kit that
includes a book of your choice, 2 spare pegs,
a generic set of strings, a Silk fabric cover, fret thread, an oil box,
a taraf string hook, and 3 mizrabs! |

All Srishti sitars are monitored during
the entire building process and fine-tuned by expert musicians in India
before being air-shipped to our shop. Once at our shop they are played by us
for an additional several hours before being offered for sale. We believe
these to be the finest new sitars available and want you to be completely
satisfied with your instrument!!
