Gandhar-Pancham Professional Sitar

The Kanai Lal Gandhar-Pancham Professional tun concert model sitar is made of select Indian mahogany and carved in the traditional design as used by Ustad Vilayat Khan and others, a very popular design known for a distinct clear tone and use in traditional and light Indian classical music. This sitar is produced in the dark wood tones which have become popular of late.


	Mother of pearl inlay and single color penwork up top and around the well balanced bottom gourd, done by expert craftsmen with a sound and finish equal to or better many other sitars of this style.


	Nicely carved swirl pegs, carefully fitted and chalked with deer horn end-pieces and deer horn tuning beads. All other parts are deer horn including the langot.


	Selected aged tun wood with nice grain in dark wood tones which have become popular lately and french polished in its natural state.


	The jawari is closed and professionally done The string layout is Vilayat Khan gandhar pancham style. All frets finely tuned and fitted in India and double checked at our shop before shipping! Meend (bending) of 5 to 6 notes is easily accomplished.


	A quality fiberglass case comes standard with our sitars from Kanai Lal & Sons. Colors will vary on in stock sitars. This sitar comes with a accessory set of spare generic strings, 3 mizrabs, fret thread and a tarab string hook.

All Kanai Lal & Sons sitars are monitored during the construction process and fine-tuned by expert musicians in India before being air-shipped to our shop. Once at our shop they are played by us for an additional several hours before being offered for sale. Please email or call with any questions!
