Srishti Standard Surbahar
The Srishti Standard Surbahar is made of the finest
available tun wood and carved in
the traditional Garland styling. The sympathetic bridge and
string anchors are in the old style located in the middle of the Tabli.
This Srishti Standard Surbahar is made with deep complex full carvings
and generous inlays in in
the style of Northern Eastern India. We
are very pleased to offer the distinct styling and detail on the
Srishti Standard tun Surbahar.
The Srishti Standard Surbahar by Srishti
musical has very intricate penwork in multiple colors and very unique
carving around a central intricate theme. This is masterfully done
by expert craftsmen at Srishti Musical in Kolkata.
Nicely carved Rosewood pegs, carefully
fitted and chalked with Deer Horn center pieces and Deer Horn tuning beads.
Focused on the headstock is a very prominent dragon head with gem-like
eyes and celluloid teeth displayed to finish the dragon motif.
The very stylish top tumba is equally as
carved and decorated
as the gullu or back of the main bottom gourd of the Surbahar, and
perfectly fitted to the Surbahar top tumba and the back of the bottom
gourd.
The jawari is
professionally done. The
string layout is Kharaj Pancham style. All frets finely tuned and fitted
in India and double checked at our shop before shipping! Meend (bending)
of several notes is easily accomplished. And
yes, it sounds as good as it looks! A resting foot is also
included.
A very large fiberglass case
comes standard with the Srishti Standard Surbahar. Colors will vary on in stock
Surbahars. If we
are out of stock and you pre-order then you have the option to choose
your case color. Also, all our Srishti Standard Surbahars come with an
accessory kits that
includes 3 misrabs of your choice,
a set of strings, fret thread, an oil box, and a
taraf string hook.
All Srishti Surbahars are monitored during
the entire building process and fine-tuned by expert musicians in India
before being air-shipped to our shop. Once at our shop they are played by us
for an additional several hours before being offered for sale. We believe
these to be the finest new Surbahars available and want you to be completely
satisfied with your instrument!!
