Radhey Sharma makes beautiful professional sitars in the Nikhil Banerjee style and we are very lucky to have a well known and respected musician from Benaras who is working with us to be able to bring you the best of Radhey Sharma sitars. The finish on these instruments is superb, done in the French polish method, the sitar has a very professional appearance and glossy shine. Definitely a concert instrument in every respect.

Radhey Shyam Sharma "Garland Tun"

The Radhey Sharma Garland tun concert model sitar is made of the finest available tun (Indian mahogany) wood. Decorated in a unique circular fashion with rose garland design and a fantastic sound!! It is 14 1/2 inches wide on the tabli, and a large and deep bottom gourd. A very responsive instrument with excellent tarab (sympathetic) strings response.

The Garland tun offers beautiful unique penwork with a scalloped design running the length of the neck! Carefully done by expert craftsmen in a dark brown design. The penwork compliments the French polish finish which is nicely done on this instrument.


	Nicely carved Rosewood pegs, carefully fitted and chalked with bone centerpieces and bone tuning beads. Also, at the top of the neck there is a special emphasis on the inlay creating a beautiful niche. The label clearly states the name of this famous sitar maker.


	The jawari is semi closed in the Nikhil Banerjee style and professionally done The string layout is the Varanasi style, omitting the Kharaj and substituting it with a "ga" string. All frets finely tuned and fitted in India and double checked at our shop before shipping! Meend (bending) of 5 to 6 notes is easily accomplished.


	A fiberglass case comes standard with the Varanasi traditional. Colors will vary on in stock sitars. If we are out of stock and you pre-order then you have the option to choose your case color. Also, all our Radhey Sharma sitars come with accessories that include: a learning book of your choice, an oil box, and 3 mizrabs.

All Radhey Sharma sitars are monitored during the entire building process and fine-tuned by expert musicians in India before being air-shipped to our shop. Once at our shop they are played by us for an additional several hours before being offered for sale. We believe these to be the finest new sitars available and want you to be completely satisfied with your instrument!!
